TOPCAT Class Boat Classes

Hello and a warm welcome to the TOPCAT Class!

TOPCAT K1

The TOPCAT K1 is the flagship and at the same time the largest catamaran in the TOPCAT fleet. The 18-foot cat is one of the fastest daggerboard-free catamarans in the world. It combines innovative design with outstanding performance โ€“ following the well-conceived TOPCAT concept. In 2014 the boat was completely redesigned and relaunched with a new look. Wavepiercer hulls increase safety and performance. The new Cunningham system and height-adjustable trapezes improve handling โ€“ especially in strong winds. Thanks to its size and construction, the TOPCAT responds very reliably even at top speed and is sailed in racing by two persons with a gennaker.

The TOPCAT K1 is a recognised World Sailing Class. Numerous national and international regattas and world championships are held.

TOPCAT K2

Athletic Allrounder โ€“ A sporty, fast and reliable boat that can be sailed solo or with two people. This 17-foot catamaran from the TOPCAT fleet is a dependable companion.
The high hull shape provides plenty of buoyancy, and the generous deck space offers maximum comfort during sporting use โ€“ even for tall or multiple persons. The K2 glides over the waves safely and quickly. A righting or boarding aid makes it possible to right the catamaran after a capsize even by a smaller or lighter person.
This model also follows the consistent One-Design principle of the TOPCAT philosophy. Since 2018 the K2 has additionally been fitted with a very easy-to-handle furling gennaker. In regattas it is now also sailed with this furling gennaker.

TOPCAT K3

Sporty single-handed sailing โ€“ that is the domain of the TOPCAT K3. Unique for a boat of its size is single-handed sailing with a reacher and a total sail area of over 30 sqm.
The 16-foot catamaran is designed so that transport, rigging and even righting after a capsize are easily possible single-handed.
In regattas, equipped with a Pentex mainsail and gennaker, the cat is sailed by one person.

Length 4.92 m (16 feet)
Width 2.21 m
Mast length 7.60 m
Mainsail area 14.9 sqm

Topcat K3X

The new TOPCAT K3X is the most innovative model in the new X series: the new Wavepiercer hulls in combination with the tall and narrow mainsail deliver an unmatched agility and turning ability for a daggerboard-free catamaran.

33 sqm of sail area guarantee maximum performance in the racing configuration. The modern Decksweeper mainsail is always controllable thanks to the Cunningham operated from the trapeze. As the only single-handed catamaran class sailed with a reacher, the K3X demands athleticism and skill from the sailor. The smooth running of the Wavepiercer hulls encourages trapeze riding on every point of sail.

TOPCAT K4X

The TOPCAT K4X offers uncomplicated sailing fun at top quality. Onto the car roof and off on holiday or for a leisure sail. Or rigged with more sail area and standing sportily in the trapeze โ€“ experiencing the other side of this handy catamaran.
In 2016 the design of the small 15-foot cat was extensively revised and since March 2017 it has been presented in a new look as the TOPCAT K4X.
Due to its size and light weight, the K4X is an ideal entry-level boat for all those who want uncomplicated but individual sailing fun.
Effortless handling when rigging, launching or righting after a capsize โ€“ all by one person alone.
The TOPCAT K4X is excellent for introducing young sailors from the age of 10, as it lies stably and safely on the water in any wind strength. This allows very young sailors to hone their sailing skills. And as the wind picks up, so does the fun.
In the racing configuration with mainsail, jib and reacher, not only young sailors push the handy boat to its limits.
The TOPCAT K4X is currently sailed as a racing boat exclusively by young sailors.
