Looking back on a World Championship that leaves you wanting more! ๐ŸŒŠโ›ตโ˜€

A Topcat World Championship is more than just ten races and a fight for places. It is sport, community, holiday, challenge โ€“ and above all an experience you don’t forget in a hurry.

Every day followed a brisk routine: get the boats ready, out onto the water, focus, fight, back ashore, look after the boats โ€“ and then the second part of the day begins. In the evening it was chill, poker, pizza and time spent together. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ•๐Ÿƒ

Out on the water, a demanding international fleet was waiting. Every start, every gust and every beat could make the difference. In light airs just as in steady breeze, the rule was: stay alert, think tactically and push the boat to its limit.

And that is exactly what makes the Topcat class so special:

Young crews meet experienced sailors. You can learn from one another, measure yourselves against each other and still have fun together.
If a boat takes damage somewhere, nobody just stands and watches. People pitch in, help, repair and make sure the crew gets back out on the water. It is precisely this willingness to help that turns a World Championship into a real Topcat family. ๐Ÿค

And then the conditions: sun, warm water, pleasant wind and a genuine holiday feeling. Even when the breeze was lighter for once, everyone made the best of it. Add to that nice people, good food and of course plenty of Italian pizza. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡นโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ•

There was plenty going on ashore, too. Good organisation for the youngsters, shared activities and even a birthday party showed that this is not only about results, but about having a good time together.

Best wishes,
Robin, Chris, Johannes, Tobi, Veronika, Susi, Patrik, Levin, Bjรถrn, Nelli, Lena, Sven, Annika and Jannis
